Painting Alchemy
Would you like to visit a place where your sensitivity to life and honesty are not only valued but sought out and celebrated? Might knowing that a trusted group of people will be gathering at an appointed time to create with you help overcome resistance to putting paint to paper and taking care of yourself? If yes, consider joining a PaintingAlchemy Circle, where you will learn intuitive painting, one of the safest, bravest things a person can do. In this practice, you will learn that youalready know how to paint (spoiler:everyone knows how to paint!). Absolutely no art experience is necessary to participate.
Each circle starts with movement and a one-song dance party followed by a sharing circle where you may voice what is most alive in that moment. I will teach you the simple guidelines for intuitive painting and a few straightforward social agreements.
As you create, you will discover you can express any part of yourself on a piece of paper—anger, desire, fear, audacity, joy—and things will still be very safe. This happens in a sacred witnessing circle, where your process and the process of everyone present will simply be witnessed without judgement. As the facilitator and creative midwife, I know you and every person present has the resources within to birth whatever change is moving through you. You have innate wisdom and genius that knows what to do (sometimes it just needs a clear invitation).
As you paint, I will never tell you what to do. I stand beside you when you need it and watch for signs of fear and creative readiness. When I share what I see, you see yourself more clearly.
When you entrust yourself to paint and color, they work a humble and powerful magic. You will see old habits that are no longer serving you. You will discover new ways of living that support your highest good. Your paint brush will invite you to dissolve what's not working for you and reinforce what does work. You will repeatedly witness your power to care for yourself well. If you befriend intuitive painting, this companion will consistently support you in moving any wave of emotional energy that rolls into your life. You will be less overwhelmed by big life storms because if you develop this practice, you will be navigating stormy days in a well-stocked, dependable and fabulously bedazzled vessel. You will also have a stack of paintings that become touchstones for what matters most in your life (instead of dusty boxes of art supplies that you feel bad you have not used).
Painting Alchemy circles are a good place for social artists. If you are a social artist, to create you need paper, something to smear on it, and your people creating beside you. Many social artists have the firsttwo, but don't realize they need the third. If what you read on this website turns you on, I bet you are going to find your people here and create a lot more regularly.
One last note: not all people are social artists, or ready to create in front of other people. If you would prefer to paint one-on-one, the intuitive painting process works well in this setting, too. It would be my pleasure to paint with you in private.
