Geometry Mandala
Here are the supplies you will use for this experience:
- Something to protect the table you are working at (like hardboard, smooth particle board) or a work surface you don’t mind accidentally denting with your compass.
- Compass
- 400 grit sand paper
- Ruler
- Sharp pencil
- Eraser
- 12 sheets copy paper
- 1 sheet of high quality art paper (Bristol vellum, 100 lb. paper is nice)
- Something to color with: I enjoy colored pencils or watercolor pencils and a fine brush
If you would like to order supplies online, here is a list for Dick Blick.
For brushes you have so many choices; below is a brush I use a lot (it is either a medium or large; alas it has no label…I bet it is a large). These are really low mess and great for a travel art kit:

Three watercolor pencils (red, blue, yellow) give you lots of color mixing options; of course more colors are fun too!
If you choose colored pencils, here is a sharpener.
Here are some paper choices:
Lastly, a small piece of fine sandpaper is a good tool for keeping your compass lead sharp.
